Five years ago my life changed tremendously.
I was physically very ill and would walk in to the ER every other day. Taking a walk at the park one day I saw some people working out and I would see them everyday during my walks. One day I approached Curtis and I joined the Boot Camp. Of the last five years I have been with Curtis I have not had the necessity to even see a doctor because I feel GREAT! Ever since having kids I’ve hated being caught on camera in a bathing suit which has meant that for the past 13 years I hide/run when someone brings a camera out.
But, after having stuck with your program and making a commitment to changing my eating habits, I am proud and confident to be caught sporting a swimsuit.

I WAS A CARDIO QUEEN†
Boot Camp FX is a workout I can always be proud of and feel great from. If I work out on my own, I’m constantly battling mentally with trying to work harder than I feel like giving.
I don’t have to think about how hard it is. I just do whatever he says. With someone pushing me, I can give far more than I think I can on my own and I love that.Curtis mixes it up and makes it fun but challenging.
I’ve also achieved tone and muscle mass I never really saw even after decades of working out.
I’ve always had a strong focus on sports and working out since elementary school. The fact that I’ve always been fairly fit, made it hard for me to think going to a boot camp was going to be worth my time and effort.
But what I learned was that I was a Cardio Queen. I ran hard daily with no recovery days in between, which permanently messed up my knee. I never did full-body strength & cardio workouts. I did weights, but I always did the exact same weight exercises and not enough real weight to challenge my muscles. I could never figure out why my body never seemed to change with as hard as I believed I worked out. When I started seeing Curtis, I could handle what he threw at me because I was already in a pretty fit cardio state, but I started seeing definition all over that I never saw in years of working out. In addition, I now use boot camp as a daily goal to push myself harder and faster than I think I can go. I always leave boot camp feeling great.
A friend I hadn’t seen in a year or two was meeting me and another friend at a coffee house to hang out.
Kristin walked into the coffee house and my jaw dropped. She looked awesome.
She wasn’t even flexing but her muscles were super defined, she was lean and toned, looking like a fitness model. I said, “What did you do?” I want to look like you. You look amazing! What’s funny is that she looked great before the transformation. That fact that I even saw a difference was a definite advertisement for Curtis’ training.
Boot camp was my first introduction to his killer fat burning exercises and it was fun getting pushed around. I started working out with another hard-core, butt-kicking boot camper named Nicole.
She’s become my favorite workout partner because she’s encouraging but also such a hard worker that I am motivated to keep up with her high level of fitness. When you have people who can challenge you and make you encouraged to do more than you think you can do, you know you’re in the right place.
Muscle definition that was visible to me was the result that I initially saw, and that keeps me coming back for more. Now if I can just have more discipline in my eating, I might be able to look the way I want.
In general, I’m a pretty happy person (spiritually, mentally and physically), but I definitely think that I get a huge mental boost after my Boot Camp FX workouts. My favorite feeling of accomplishment is when I go to a really hard boot camp that makes me feel like I want to pass out or throw up afterwards.
I love that feeling of knowing I climbed a mountain I initially didn’t think I could climb.
I brought my friends Jaylene and Anita to boot camp. They love it.
All the women I work out with at the morning bootcamp are all motivated and have great attitudes. It makes for a fun, exciting atmosphere. I love working out with people who want to work hard.
I always read Curtis’ e-newsletter because it keeps my mind on the right track. It is not only a reminder to stay the course, but I value the information contained in it. Even if it’s something I already know, the reminder solidifies it more completely in my mind.
Boot camp: I appreciate that Curtis doesn’t make everyone go at the exact same level all the time.
Everyone does similar exercises, but if someone is more fit and can handle more, Curtis recognizes that and makes that person do something harder in order to fatigue more quickly.
Someone asked me if Bootcamp was something I could replicate on my own and I answered that I didn’t think I could fully replicate it on my own for several reasons.
First, Curtis pushes me harder and further than I would push myself, and I appreciate that. When I ask Curtis if I can have a breather or stop for a second, he tells me “no, don’t stop, go harder”. Since I can’t resist a challenge and I feel like he thinks there is more to squeeze out of me, I do what he tells me and I am prouder of accomplishing what I thought I didn’t have the strength or energy to do. I know I couldn’t do that to myself while working out alone. Secondly, I like not having to think about what exercise is coming next. If I’m going to utilize my strength and energy full force, the last thing I want to do is think. I’d rather get pushed around, being told what to do. Boot camp has also allowed me to stay dedicated and disciplined to both my fitness and nutrition in a way I’ve not been able to maintain on my own in the last 2 years since my baby was born.
I’m not certain why that is, but perhaps it’s because I’m accountable to someone else besides myself…and I’m also paying for the change to happen and I don’t want to slack off because of it. I’ve dragged some friends with me to the Boot camp workouts and it’s psychologically boosting for me to have my friends workout with me and being on the same nutrition plan. I don’t feel alone in it, and we can all share our accomplishments together and encourage each other.
Keep kicking my butt Curtis. I love it.

I COMPLETED THE LA to BARSTOW to VEGAS RACE†
I joined Boot Camp FX to get in condition for this year’s LA to Barstow to Vegas off road motorcycle ride.
I could have easily done a third day.At age 49, I completed the two day, 440 mile ride through difficult desert terrain with only slightly sore hands at the completion.
I FEEL STRONGER AND BETTER ABOUT MYSELF†
Boot Camp has pushed me to a level of intensity that I haven’t had in years.
In just one month, I feel stronger and better about myself. Working out in a small group pushes me and keeps me accountable.
The workouts are challenging, but rewarding. Every day when I leave, I feel like I have accomplished something.

I LOST 17 POUNDS WITH CURTIS’ BOOT CAMP FX†
My business is property management. I manage my own houses and apartments. I have always worked out at a gym. This year I canceled my gym membership due to my loving Boot Camp FX so much. I work out at Boot Camp 5 days a week. My doctor’s were so happy when I showed them results of my bone density test. My bone density was above average for my age. As we get older we lose muscle mass and that is why older people fall and break their bones much easier than a person who works out. I am 70 years young and besides having great bone density results from Boot Camp I am also more defined in area’s where people my age have a lot of fat. Of course you also have to watch what you eat and Curtis has a great fat loss plan for you to follow and the fat does come off.

I love working out outdoors. Who wants to be enclosed? You are outdoors and hear the birds and see all the nature around you.
In the 12 years I have known Curtis he is truly what he preaches. He is so into what he does and loves it. He greets us every morning with a smile. Last year February 1st, I started a treatment for my liver which went on for six months. Every Friday I had an injection in my stomach which was like chemo. I would feel sick and by Monday sometimes I did not want to work out, but still went. There were times when I would get out of breath just trying to run around the playground area and Curtis would still encourage me – keep going. This I do not forget. Especially since I had three personal trainers previously who did not compare to Curtis. With his encouragement I even did the stairs at Cal State Fullerton which is not easy when you are well. I did it at my own pace and was last to finish, but there was Curtis waiting for me with a high five.
I finished my treatment last July and here I am strong as ever again with my liver fully healed. I encourage everyone to come and try Boot Camp FX just for your health and the looks will be a plus.
There are men who workout and walk around showing it all off. What I love about Curtis is that he has the great body with all the muscles and does not show it off or brag about it. He is so down to earth and really cares about the people he is training.

I LOST 28 POUNDS FOR MY WEDDING†
On December 18 my boyfriend of 3.5 years proposed. Literally one of the first thoughts that went through my mind was: I have to do something about my body before the wedding. But what was that going to be?
I had always been an active person, but I was also definitely someone who had a hard time fighting the temptation of the and quick-fix if I was unsettled with results (i.e. diet pills/crazes of the moment).
I had never been able to find a healthy balance or a body I was happy with. I needed to change, not only for my wedding gown, but also for my health and for the loved ones around me who were also directly affected by my moodiness, when I constantly felt like I had failed.
Then I was blessed to find Curtis! While knowing the right times to push and always challenging me to reach beyond my goals in a positive way, the constant support and passion for his craft carried me through (and believe me there were definitely some ups in downs in preparation for the big day but through a healthy eating regime outlined for me by Curtis (and quizzed on just to be sure it stuck) paired with the kick butt workouts each week, the change in my body was incredible.
I honestly never thought it could happen. By the time my wedding day rolled around, not only did my dress have to be taken in quite a bit but my personality, confidence, and general approach to most situations had been revitalized!
Luckily I was able to invite the man of the hour and that he was that night. Curtis had a fan club that included all of my family and friends, especially because he gave me “those arms.”

I NOTICED A HUGE DIFFERENCE IN MY BODY†
All my life I have been skinny and fit without any kind of regular exercise. I always ate well and was one of those people that you learn to hate because I ate very well without gaining any weight.
Well, as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After my two kids, things changed. With my first child I was able to lose all but 5 pounds, again without any particular exercise. When I had my 2nd child I gained another 5 pounds. Then as I started getting older, (mid thirties), I noticed I was getting flabbier and I truly started to understand the meaning of gravity!
Partially because I NEVER GO TO THE GYM. The only time you will see me set foot in a gym is when I have a private session with a trainer.I had previously worked out with other trainers with NO real results.
Mind you, I only train 2-times a week when I am training with Curtis. He was able to accomplish what other trainers could not do at 3 times a week for months. When your posture and energy level is better and your flat buttocks start to fill up your jeans- WOW, THAT IS THE BEST MOTIVATION. At this rate I don’t think I need to have that consultation with the plastic surgeon.So when my last trainer left, I decided to give Curtis a try. After only 10 sessions with him, I started noticing a HUGE difference in my body.

Otherwise, I would have not returned after the first day. I do remember the first day of workout, and I felt nauseated afterwards… But, I kept coming back because I felt renewed after each workout. After “celebrating” my 50th birthday I realized I had a couple of choices; to be 50, flabby and feeling frumpy OR to be 50, fit and feeling fabulous.

I JUST RAN THE 2010 LA MARATHON…ALL 26.2 MILES†
First of all, I have had trainers in the past, however, I find that the result is quite different. My experience with previous trainers was a definite change in my body tone, balance and motivation, but that’s where it stopped. I find that the difference with Boot Camp FX is that I have gained stamina.
Prior to Boot Camp FX my personal routine was Pilates a few times a week and jog 2 miles on Saturday. On my 2 miles I would start out jogging, but before I got to the first mile I had to take walking breaks. Last weekend I jogged 4 miles non stop. I did a lot of sweating, but my breathing was never labored and my legs didn’t get sore at all. Boot Camp FX has certainly given me tone, balance and motivation just as the other trainers did, but without the endurance factor you don’t realize your TRUE POTENTIAL. This is good stuff.
I took your class starting August 3rd thru October 31st of 2009. I must admit that this was the kick start of my training for the Marathon.
The element of surprise of never knowing what you will be doing and what feat you will accomplish that day is what keeps people motivated.In your class, you take people beyond their expectations of what their bodies can do.
It’s hard to get up at 5 a.m. to arrive at the park in the dark to work out, but if you miss a day, you just don’t feel right. You wonder what you have missed.
No kidding….my time is still posted (bib #15262).At age 51, I must say that I never would have imagined running a full Marathon, completing it, without injury, in 5 hours 41 minutes.

I INCREASED MUSCLE MASS AND ENDURANCE†
I have now been at Bootcamp FX for one month and it has been amazing. I’ve never been to a bootcamp before and wasn’t sure what to expect. I have gone about 3x a week but even in just a few times, I have had a noticeable increased muscle mass and endurance.
Curtis is a great trainer and coach as he is friendly, motivational, and creative. Each workout has been different and he has just enough intensity to push me harder without wanting to give up. You will love him. He has a workout at 5:30 AM, 8:00-8:30 AM (my preference), and 6 PM. Sometimes there are 3 of us, sometimes there has been up to 8, but each time everyone is busy and working hard. I love getting there at 7:55 and out by 8:40 with a great sweat. It is quick and very efficient. The first week or so, I was so tired all day long (which tells me I was working new muscles), but now I feel great and ready to conquer the day! If you want to lose weight, build muscle, gain endurance this bootcamp will be great for you.I never thought I would see results so quickly.
Everyone I have met has been friendly and cool and a pleasure to work out with.

I NEEDED TO GET HEALTHY, SO I DID†
I am a server at an Italian Restaurant in Seal Beach, recently married and just moved to Fullerton. I come from parents that are obese and have diabetes and high cholesterol and I want none of that. Before boot camp I was unhappy with the way that I felt about myself. I come from a family of obesity and that scares me! So I told myself that I need to get healthy… and so I DID! I heard about boot camp from the show Desperate Housewives. I know that sounds funny but they had an episode where they had a boot camp every morning so I searched craigslist and found many different ones. It was over whelming. When I saw Curtis’ boot camp something just told me that this was the one that I should do. I saw the testimonials from other people and I wanted to join. At first I was a little nervous. I am the type of person that can’t keep up with the rest but Curtis pumps you up just when you think that you want to quit. He is there supporting you every step of the way he wants you to succeed!!!
The first month I lost 5 lbs and my clothes look and feel better on and I feel like I have more energy through out the day. My Husband says that he can see the difference in my personality and I have a positive outlook on life. My co-workers tell me that they can tell that I lost weight. I’M LIVING A TOTALLY DIFFERENT LIFESTYLE†
Curtis is a friend that changed my life.
Let me tell you this, I have a different food shopping style now because of him, he provided me with an excellent list of nutrition that will help me build my healthy body, and provide me with the most amount of essential vitamins. Dear Curtis, If you asked me four months ago…would you like to workout early in the morning, sometimes in the dark, sometimes in the rain, sometimes in the cold and sometimes in the heat, I would think you were crazy. Maybe I am, but I really enjoy the time I spend at boot camp.
The exercises are challenging and different every day, the pace is awesome and even though everyone is not at the same level, I am never bored.

I would like to express how much I have enjoyed training with Curtis. I have used a couple of different trainers in the past and can honestly say he is the most knowledgeable one. He gives you the opportunity to reach your goals and beyond and seems to instinctively know when to push you really hard and when to ease up. I have some physical limitations and Curtis is very good at finding exercises that target my problem areas without causing me to injure myself. I have learned so much from Curtis.
Thanks, Curtis!!! One more thing, he has this way of making suggestions that are so valuable. They are just little suggestions, ideas for you to take home with you. But if you listen before you know it you have changed a behavior that used to be an obstacle and you get closer to your goal without too much effort. By the way, this usually happens without you knowing it.I have been working out regularly for over twenty years, but in the past year and half since I started training with Curtis, I have become more fit than ever and I can do things now that I couldn’t do when I was much younger.

THE MOST POWERFUL LUNGS IN OPERA†
Soon I will begin my fifth year of training with Curt. I had never thought of using a trainer before because I already drive myself hard. But Curt brings something else into the picture. As an exceptionally driven athlete himself, he recognizes that same intensity in me and helps me focus it. I like to train myself and I train hard. But I also know from the examples set by our greatest athletes that rarely do they rise to their ultimate levels of achievement and excellence without the assistance and guidance of a skilled and knowledgeable trainer.
Now I know that it would be nearly impossible to train alone and aspire to the same rewards that I have experienced in the last four years with Curt.
What separates the great trainer from the good trainer, I think, is the ability to glean from all of the knowledge currently available concerning fitness that which is specifically tailored to each individual’s needs. I have given Curt my own unique challenge. As an Opera singer I am always aware of how my physical body can be used to enhance my singing voice. Over the years we have developed a set of specific drills and exercises that improve my ability to strengthen and access the vocal apparatus. I consider myself to be one of the fittest Opera singers anywhere! Thanks Curt! I’m looking forward to my fifth year!

THE RESULTS ARE FABULOUS†
When I started training with Curtis, over a year ago, my goal was to tone up a little and cut down on the days that I was spending at the gym. I am a very busy mother of two elementary kids; room-mom, teaching part-time in the classrooms, fund raisers, church activities, piano lessons, boy and girls scouts, dance lessons….well, I think you’ve got the picture.
Like all mom’s today, I wanted a GREAT workout in the least amount of time, with the BEST results!!! Was it possible? I didn’t know, but I’ve been working out at the gym for years, for hours and pretty much looked the same. I didn’t look bad, but I wanted the same or better, results in less time. My life was busier and I was finding that I was sacrificing my workout time to take care of everything else.
I work out half the amount of time, every session is packed with new exercises (so you don’t get bored), and the sessions aren’t the traditional, “Give me 100 push-up, ten chin-up,…” type regime. Curtis throws in fun and excitement, and yes, some hard work…but it’s over quickly…and the result are FABULOUS!!! I AM recommending Curtis to anyone who is serious about wanting to change the way their body looks and feels. I had several personal tragedies and illness in my life this year. Once very fit, I didn’t have the energy to maintain workouts on my own.…people have been noticing and telling me, you’ve really slimmed down…when I put on the coat, it fit me and it was two sizes below what I normally wear.

Boot Camp FX has helped me more than I ever expected.
Both him and I have been “chubby” all our lives, It feels SO good to know that we are able to accomplish this weight loss without the help of diet pills, excessive dieting or cosmetic procedures. We first joined in preparation for out wedding which was 6 months away. I had bought my wedding dress a size too small so that I would be FORCED to lose the weight. 4 months later I went for my fitting and they had to TAKE THE DRESS IN! Although the alterations cost me about half the price of the dress, It was the happiest I have ever been to spend a lot of money Boot Camp FX has taught me I CAN physically be the person I want to be; and with that has come a overall sense of positiveness happiness in my life that certainly was not there before.
